    AARP, the nation’s largest senior organization, has many resources on Social Security and privatization.
  • National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare www.ncpssm.org
    The National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare provides education and advocacy materials on Social Security and privatization to the public.
  • Alliance for Retired Americans www.retiredamericans.org
    The Alliance for Retired Americans, a grassroots organization of labor retirees and retiree community groups, has a special Social Security section on their Web site with fact sheets and more.

Women’s Organizations

  • National Women’s Law Center www.nwlc.org
    The National Women’s Law Center does policy work on a variety of women’s issues, including Social Security. Of particular interest is their 50 state report on Social Security.
  • Institute for Women’s Policy Research www.womenandsocialsecurity.org
    The Institute for Women’s Policy Research, a women’s public policy think tank, has set up a special Web site for their work on Social Security.

The National Partnership on Women and Families works  on a variety of issues that affect women, including Social Security.  They have many fact sheets on the effects of privitization on women and their families.

    Rock the Vote, an organization that engages youth in the political process, has a new youth and Social Security poll on their Web site along with a blog and Social Security gear (t-shirts etc.).
  • Dude Where’s My Retirement www.dudewheresmyretirement.com
    This Web site was created by a 33-year-old man who has been fighting Social Security privatization for the last several years. The site has advocacy links, t-shirts, a blog and more.
  • Campus Progress www.campusprogress.com
    Campus Progress, a project of the Center for American Progress, is a brand new effort to strengthen progressive voices on college and university campuses nationwide. Their site incorporates the issues involving Social Security privatization and young people.
  • There is No Crisis www.thereisnocrisis.com
    Thereisnocrisis.org is a Web-based group formed by a group of young bloggers to dispel the myth that Social Security is going broke.

    The Century Foundation conducts public policy research and analyses of economic, social, and foreign policy issues. One of their major focus areas is Social Security. Their Web site has very useful fact sheets and materials.
